SPRING 2023 STUNT TEAM TRYOUT INFO:


Fill out the Stunt Interest Form below before tryouts begin.
You MUST have an updated Wake County High School Athletic Participation Form on file, which includes a current physical examination, uploaded to DragonFly by February 5. Use the link below to login to DragonFly.
Jumps:

Skills: Toe touch, pike, hurdler

Jumps will be judged on technique, height, and flexibility
Tumbling:
-
Standing Skills: back handspring, back handspring back tuck, back tuck

Running Skills: round-off back handspring, round-off tuck, round-off back handspring tuck, round-off back handspring layout

Athletes will be judged on technique. We will not score “busts” in tumbling. Only mastered and consistent skills should be performed during tryouts.
Stunting:
-
Skills: Extensions, single-leg stunt variations, inversions, full arounds, 360 cradles, basket variations
-
Athletes will be placed in stunt groups during tryouts and have the opportunity to show stunting skills. Strength, skill, versatility, and confidence will be taken into consideration.
Motions:
-
Athletes will learn one STUNT routine to perform for tryouts to display tumbling and jump skills as well as motion technique.

Precision and accuracy of motions, memorization of the routine, and proper execution of skills will be scored.
Attitude:
-
Positive attitude and commitment to the team is required.

Note: Not all stunting and tumbling skills that are judged are required to be on the team. However, if you do not have the tumbling skills, you should be very strong in stunting or vice versa.
